) Abstract: Cu/Ti3SiC2/Cf composites were fabricated by hot pressing sintering, and the relationship between sintering temperature and phase, properties were studied
The results indicated that the effects of sintering temperature on phase were obvious, Ti3SiC2 reacted with copper at 950oC, Cu(Si) solid solution and TiC were formed, whereas at 1050oC Cu(Si) solid solution and intermetallic compound Cu15Si4 as well as TiC were observed
Reaction mechanism was about the decomposition of Ti3SiC2 and the inter-diffusion of Si and Cu
The values of composites’ density, relative density, hardness, electrical resistivity and interact-layer thickness increased with the sintering temperature
