) Abstract: A polymer containing main-chain iso-sorbide units (PESIT) has been synthesized by polycondensation of an iso-sorbide based polyethylene terephthalate and glycol in solution through a thermal reaction
The chemical structure and properties of the iso-sorbide based polymer were characterized by using FTIR, H-NMR and thermal analysis
The glass temperature (Tg) and the decomposition (Td) of the PESIT were measured to be 75

The results indicate that the polymer posses good structure and thermal stability and nice spinnability
