) Abstract: Nb-based alloys offer great potential as important alternative materials to Ni-based alloys due to their high melting points, low densities and excellent general mechanical properties
However, their poor oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures is the key problem to restrain their application
This paper reviews the current oxidation resistant protection technologies of Nb-based alloys in the following aspacts: alloying effect, grain refinement and coating techniques, and furthermore, the existing problems in the current research have been analyzed
