) Abstract: Compared with traditional vehicle suspension, air suspension with auxiliary chamber has many preponderances and been widespread concern in scholars
Aim at strong nonlinearity and hysteresis quality of air suspension with auxiliary chamber, application of the theories of aerodynamics, engineering thermodynamics and fluid dynamics, a nonlinear mathematical model was established and the damping characteristic of the suspension was analyzed
Then, a basic control strategy of the suspension was gotten through discussing the variable relationship of relative damping coefficient and inherent frequency with amplitude and the size of the throttle
Finally, based on the results of damping characteristic analysis and taken into account that the conventional suspension control method cannot meet the requirement of road-friendliness and riding comfort simultaneously, the suspension was simplified and a hybrid sliding mode control system combined sky-hook reference sliding mode with ground-hook reference sliding mode was set up
Meanwhile, the control effect of air suspension with auxiliary chamber in different mixing coefficients was analyzed
The analyzation results showed that hybrid sliding mode control system of air suspension with auxiliary chamber could trace the reference model well and had favorable combination property
