) Abstract: Real-time Tracking System is provided with some features, such as high requirement of customer experience, the complex structure, the transmission of a large amount of information as well as the quick response to users, so it is often built as desktop applications in traditional way
However, with the appearance and development of WebGIS, J2EE, AJAX and VML, Web applications have replaced desktop applications in many fields
Aimed at the specialty of real-time tracking system, we build such an application associate with techniques above
In this system, MapXtreme Java works as map server, the pressure of application server is largely reduced based on traditional method of webGIS
Combined withVML and AJAX, several client techniques are used to manage the maps and datas at different layers
While ensuring the map quality and data search fuction, we reduce the amount of information in the network, customers’ experiences is improved a lot and we apply it to a project
