） Abstract： In this review, some limitations of insect immune defenses especially with respect to parasitism were introduced from the evolution ecology’s aspect, including the failure to recognize an antigen, response specificity, the cost of defense, and the risk of autoimmunity, sex, resource availability, and interference by parasites
Such limitations affect the insect immune defenses in different aspects (unmediated or induced, general or specific), and in turn restrict the persistent immune defenses of insect
