) Abstract: Based on the NLS equations, the optical switching of NOLM induced by XPM is researched by the split-step Fourier method
Analyzed the impact on the output of GVD and the power of control light
Studied the impact of reverse XPM briefly
The results show that GVD will broaden the signal, but only the amplitude spectrum is changed, not the frequency spectrum; increase the power of the control light will enlarge the frequency shift and distort the signal, at the same time, the impact will be intensified as the increase of the difference between the signal light and control light; besides, when the space of the control signals is small, the reverse XPM will weaken the output
