） Abstract： As diseases like foot-and-mouth disease are spreading rapidly via international business among countries, security check in control of livestock in transit is gaining increasing importance from all countries
This paper applies iris recognition to control of livestock in transit, authenticating for livestock, in order to build a traceability system of livestock health security information, which is based on iris recognition, then achieve a goal of livestock health security information inquiry and the individual traceability when security problem emerges
Research findings would be helpful for the control and management of health security of livestock in transit
