） 摘要： 介绍了一种基于嵌入式Linux的视频监控系统的硬件构成和软件设计
基于C/S模式进行了监控系统的软件设计
并扩展了USB摄像头作为视频采集端
系统采用ARM9嵌入式微处理器
） Abstract： The hardware structure and software design of video monitoring system are presented
The hardware platform was built by using USB cameras and a S3C2410 microprocessor with an operating system of ARM-Linux
The software was designed based on C/S mode
The test result of system proves that the implementation strategy has good stability and portability
It has certain significance in realizing remote monitoring based on RAM
